What is your role at Rippe Keane Marketing? I am the senior graphic designer at Rippe Keane. It’s like a graphic designer, but with naps (I’m kidding?).
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? I probably don’t sleep as much as I should, so I’m probably actually doing all the things you ask about. Which are apparently: falling asleep to Netflix, and playing mobile games for far too long, because I forgot how old I am?
What was your first job like? My first job was as a janitorial assistant one summer during junior high. It prepared me for having kids. Plus, the repetitive motion of mopping a large floor is very therapeutic. Scraping chewing gum from under desks and trash cans, notsomuch.
What are some small things that make your day better? Working with cool people definitely makes the day better. So it’s very fortunate I work at Rippe Keane! Also, music. Music is an essential element of the work day for me.
What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? Hawaii. I’ve been there three times, last for my honeymoon. But I do want to get out and see a lot more of the world.
What is one graphic design skill that you’ve taught yourself? I’m mostly self-taught in design. But at the same time, I build my skills on the shoulders of all the creatives who’ve come before. So I’m taught by the legacy of designers, and I try to give back to the community when I can, too. It’s an ever-changing field, and it’s exciting to be along for the ride.
